“I am determined

TO BE THE VERY BEST AT WHAT I DO.”

– D. FLETCHER

Attorney Fletcher discusses a few of his firm’s core business values, and the culture that drives his practice.

* * *

Derek Fletcher is the Supervising Attorney at FLETCHER LEGAL, PLLC, a Charlotte based law practice that defends Criminal and Impaired Driving allegations, Expunges Criminal Records, and Protects First, Second, and Fourth Amendment Constitutional rights.

Originally from metro Detroit, Michigan, Derek moved south after accepting a scholarship to Carson-Newman College, a small, baptist, undergrad east of Knoxville.

After earning his Bachelor of Arts, Derek enrolled at the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, Virginia. He especially excelled in the fields of Tort, Criminal Procedure, and Constitutional Law. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor, and graduating in the top one-third of his class.

During his final year of law school, Derek completed a twelve-week course of study with the Mecklenburg County Public Defenders Office. “Ya know, that was probably the first time I had actually been in a courtroom.”

After graduating, studying, sitting for the Bar Exam, raising his hand, swearing his oath, and registering with the State, Derek opened his first law practice at Lake Norman. During his early years of practice, Derek earned broad experience handling many different cases across many different counties.

Over the past decade, Derek has defended child support actions, process immigration appeals, helped friends with speeding tickets, sued a major financial institution and sheriff’s department, and defended serious criminal allegations. Derek has gone after the biggest power company in the State, protected protesters at the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and volunteered to keep a mother of four from being evicted at the holidays.

“I’m not afraid to fight for them, I’m not afraid to fight for you.”

“‘Good enough’ is not nearly good enough at FLETCHER LEGAL. A core value that drives our firm’s decisions and culture is the shared goal of being the best at what we do. We deliver our best results only by delivering 100% to every client, in every case, with every charge; treating them as if they’re our only client.”
